| This Photoshop tutorial will show you how to create stripes and star text. |
| |
| To start off , make a new Photoshop document with a black background. Create some large, grey (7F7E7E) thick text. I've used 150pt BorisBlackBloxx, but you can use any thick font, such as Arial Black. Rasterize the text and make a selection using it. Choose the gradient tool and set it to linear gradient. Set the foreground color to 7F7E7E and the background to 595959. Drag the gradient tool the distance and direction of the red arrow in image b). |

| |
| Expand (select > modify > expand)the selection by 8 pixels and fill a new layer below the text with a very dark grey (292929). Next, create a new layer set, name it stripes and create a new layer inside of it. Use the rectangular marquee tool to create an orange (FF790A) rectangle over the text. |

| Duplicate the rectangle, move it just above the orange one, make a slection using it and fill it with blue (0AD9FF). Next go to [ Part 2 ] of this Photoshop tutorial. |
