ok so quite a few people have asked about my borders so i have decided to write a tutorial on borders in general ok so you want to open a new layer in you picture (the one that you want to add a border to)
1. now press ctrl + a to select the whole layer then go to select> modify >Border
now choose a size for you border but keep in mind that it the fill ends up going over the selction for some reson anyway so it's best to do about 15 unless you want a really chunky border
2. now press d to reset the colours and press alt+delete nine time this ensures you get a crisp fill
3 select >inverse and now fill with wite you only need to do this one once
4. deselect now and you should have this
now it is up to you do what ever with the black and white to create you border but do not add any colour and also blurs make it dificult to do the next part
eg in this instance i have used the colour halftone filter
5 now get the magic wand tool and set it up like this
and then use it to select the black part of the image and then delete the layer and go down to the layer with your image on and press delete
then all you have to do is save it as a gif to save the transparency and voila
Ps. Those of you who are not members of this forum should really join you can post comments on tutorials ask for help and generally have a good time _________________
