Creating carpet style border on an image |
| Start
by opening an image of your choice. |
|
| Create
a random selection using "Polygon Lasso" tool. |
|
| Press
Q to enable quick mask. From filter menu select Sketch>>Water Paper. Apply
settings as shown. |

| Press
Q again to disable quick mask. |
|
| Press
Ctrl+Shift+I to invert the selection and then press Delete to remove outer
area. |
|
| From
filter menu select "Liqiefy". Select "Pucker" tool. |
|
| In
liquify window apply the tool to the edges of the image to create random
distortion. |
|
| Click
OK to apply the effect on the image. |
|
| Ctrl+Click
the layer thumbnail to get the selection. From select menu select modify>>contract.
Contract the selection by 5 pixels. |
|
| Press
Ctrl+J to copy paste the selection in a new layer. This will create a frame
for the image. Hide the original layer to see the frame. |
|
| Unhide
the original image layer. Select frame layer and change the layer mode to
"Vivid Light". |
